(Be careful with Loot Crates placed close to other objects, the ejected cannister can sometimes clip into station geometry rendering them impossible to get, as seen in this video.
When you find one of these Loot Crates you need to shoot the locks off (the red parts shown in the image above) without destroying the entire crate, and then pick up the cargo cannister that flies out. Some of these Loot Crates will be hidden in the nooks and crannies of stations, others in empty space, or in asteroid fields. Or as random drops from destroyed ships and asteroids. The purpose of the Treasure Hunt is to find the individual pieces scattered around the Universe, and then assemble them using the Crafting Interface, before turning them in to whichever NPC assigned you the Mission.Įven before starting the Treasure Hunt Missions you may begin to find the parts necessary to craft the Treasure itself, these parts are found either in cargo canisters stored in Loot Crates (shown below) scattered across the Universe.
